The FFF Racing Team by ACM will return to the GT Asia Series in 2016, campaigning the stunning new Lamborghini Huracan GT3 developed by Squadra Corse in Italy.

The team have revealed that factory junior drivers Andrea Amici and Edoardo Liberati - who have emerged from Lamborghini’s one-make Super Trofeo championships - will campaign the car which will make its GT3 competition debut in South Korea on 13-15 May.

Whilst it will be one of the first Asian appearances of the car developed exclusively at Sant’Agata Bolognese in Italy, it’s debut outing actually took place in April 2015 in Europe, the marque finding success almost immediately against the best GT3 cars in the world.

Development of the 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 powered Huracan GT3 continued throughout the 2015 season to the point where Squadra Corse - Lamborghini’s competition arm - have revealed that 40 cars will compete around the world in season 2016.

“The number of Huracán GT3s sold to date in the world,” commented Giorgio Sanna, Head of Lamborghini Motorsport, “demonstrates the validity of our product, which combines the needs of gentlemen drivers and professionals, consolidating the relationship between Lamborghini Squadra Corse and the customer teams that choose us.”

Whilst customer racing has been a big part of the GT Asia Series in recent years, Lamborghini also look to the region’s leading GT series as an opportunity to develop their Junior drivers.

“As Lamborghini Squadra Corse we have a strong commitment to supporting young promise in the world of Gran Turismo [GT]. The successful sales we have been experiencing with the Huracán GT3 this year have given us the opportunity to support a larger number of drivers in the GT3 Junior Program. We are very proud that we have 13 drivers from our 2015 Super Trofeo series who are going to participate in the world’s most important GT championships supported by Squadra Corse, which means our youth program is working exactly the way we wanted.”

For Amici and Liberati, neither of the young Italians have competed within GT Asia in the past, however both have Asian experience, Amici as one of the leading contenders in the 2014 Super Trofeo World Final in Sepang - winning both legs of the European final at the Malaysian venue - whilst Liberati won the PRO-AM leg of Super Trofeo Asia last year alongside China’s Yuan Bo.

As experienced campaigners in a number of European GT championships and well versed with the Huracan Super Trofeo, both drivers are expected to have the FFF Racing Team by ACM Lamborghini right in the mix for this year’s GT Asia Series title.

“It’s fantastic to have FFF Racing team by ACM back in the championship for another season, and exciting to see their new relationship with Squadra Corse and Lamborghini. It looks like being another exciting year, and we expect that the two young Lamborghini Junior drivers will really spice up the action at the front of the field” David Sonenscher, the CEO of Motorsport Asia Limited acknowledged.

"Be part of this team is rewarding, specially for the Lamborghini Squadra Corse support. I’ve talked with Sanna last winter, and when he told me about the program, I was sure to confirm it. Squadra Corse and FFF Racing have great projects for the future, so for me is an honor and pleasure be part of this.
I’m also happy to have Liberati as teammate. We form a good couple, and we are ready to fight in this new experience. We have not competed in GT Asia in past, however both have Asian experience. Last year I finished Runner-up in the Italian GT Championship, Liberati won the PRO-AM class of Super Trofeo Asia, FFF Racing won some races in GT Asia. I think that we form a good mix to fight for the championship. Fingers crossed and maximum attack”.
